In Mary, we see image of heavenly glory…
On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, an epiphany about what Mary really represents in our lives…Mary shows me the promised fulfillment of creation on the eighth day…It was not Jesus circumcision that showed him as the King of the Jews, but was his Mother Mary, and our Spiritual Mother’s, agreement with the law of circumcision, on the eighth day after his birth, that showed him to be the King of the Jews this day! (Read gospel for today’s Mass readings!)http://www.usccb.org/bible/readings/010113.cfm …For us to see Mary as the completion of the creation story is hard, because we still live in an evil world, but she was kept free of that evil, and thanks be to God for Mary!
Hail Mary, full of grace!
The Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death. Amen!
It is funny, when I looked up the eight maids a milking, in the song, they were meant to represent the beattitudes…Of which, they definitely all apply to Mary, so the parallel to the celebration of her as the Mother of God today still works…Thanks for the trackback!
