Gift: Wisdom– With the gift of wisdom, we see God at work in our lives and in the world. For the wise person, the wonders of nature, historical events, and the ups and downs of our lives take on deeper meaning. The matters of judgment about the truth, and being able to see the whole image of God.
Reading: 4 Amos answered Amaziah, “I was no prophet, nor have I belonged to a company of prophets; I was a shepherd and a dresser of sycamores. (Amos 7:14)
4 When the crowds saw this they were struck with awe and glorified God who had given such authority to human beings. (Matthew 9:8)
Observation: The video reflection was the best understanding I heard for these readings today: http://www.usccb.org/video/reflections.shtml

Personification: Faith/Fidelity – The ability to stick to our work and to stay firm in our commitment to God and to God’s people with whom we are connected. It is my intention to focus on displaying the fruit of fidelity and faith, today and for the rest of my life. Hopefully, it is obvious that in watching the video reflection from the USCCB website this morning that it is my intention to be faithful to the truth revealed through the church.
Prayer: Lord, help me be faithful to your Word and the church by following the traditions and symbols of our faith that are currently are part of our church, both electronically and physically. I ask this, as always, in the name of the Father and the Son and of the holy Spirit. Amen.
