My God, I am sorry…

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.  In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all things.  I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.  Our Savior Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In His name, my God, have mercy.  Amen.

Reading:  They sang a new hymn: “Worthy are you to receive the scroll and to break open its seals, for you were slain and with your blood you purchased for God those from every tribe and tongue, people and nation.  You made them a kingdom and priests for our God, and they will reign on earth.”  (Revelation 5:9-10)

Observation:  I couldn’t get over the fact in the vision that John is retelling in the book of Revelation, specifically in the first reading from Mass for today, he says that he makes the chosen ones into priests for our God and they will reign over the earth.  Now, I don’t know exactly how this is going to manifest in our reality, or even if it already is, but I love the imagery of no longer being held captive by this world.

Personification:  Peace  It is my hope today that I can begin to act with the fruit of peace in my life.  I realize that I need to pray that the Prince of Peace brings peace to our world, but I also know that we must undergo wars before the end will come.  So, I will also pray that I can be used as a vehicle of peace for other people in their lives.

Prayer:  (See above)
