Gift:  Piety (Reverence) – With the gift of reverence, sometimes called piety, we have a deep sense of respect for God and the Church. A person with reverence recognizes our total reliance on God and comes before God with humility, trust, and love.

Reading:  As proof that you are children, 4 God sent the spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”  (Galatians 4:6)

Observation:  It was pretty cool that I picked these words yesterday to add to my prayer.  I have not used those words in my prayer since I was doing my journal solely in paperback form, I believe.  The fact that today we honor our Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary and the church chose one of three or four readings in the new testament that use this phrase in reference to God is pretty awesome.  I guess I would not be so impressed if I had looked ahead to what readings were coming up in the next couple of days, but I wasn’t and still these words were what came to me to form the end of my prayer yesterday.

Personification:  Patience  Once again, because God has been so patient with me, it only seems fair that I am patient with his children that he put in my care while they are on earth.  Anyway, I hope that God will continue to be patient with me and give me the grace necessary to display the fruit of patience in my life.

Prayer:  (I am going to see if I can find a song to go here for today…)

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy Spirit.  Amen.
