Gift:  Wisdom– With the gift of wisdom, we see God at work in our lives and in the world. For the wise person, the wonders of nature, historical events, and the ups and downs of our lives take on deeper meaning. The matters of judgment about the truth, and being able to see the image of God.

Reading:  3 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I dedicated you, a prophet to the nations I appointed you.  (Jeremiah 1:5)

Observation:  From the first reading through the responsorial Psalm for today’s Mass readings, we hear a reminder that once we are called as disciples, that call can be traced back to before we were born.  It is much easier to see myself as a disciple of Jesus, if I know that God had intended me to be one from before I was formed in my mother’s womb.

Personification:  Gentleness  As I selected the fruit of gentleness to display today, I do not know why I selected it.  It must be for the simple fact that the knowledge of my calling to discipleship before my birth, should give me a gentle spirit to be able to share the good news with people with a soft and gentle demeanor.

Prayer:  Lord, help me rest in the fact that God called me before I was formed in my mother’s womb and allow me to deliver your good news of salvation to anyone that you place in the path of my voice today.  I ask this, as always, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit.  Amen.
