Go ahead, scream about injustice…God will hear you!

Gift:  Fortitude (Courage) – With the gift of courage, we overcome our fear and are willing to take risk as a follower of Jesus. A person with courage is willing to stand up for what is right in the sight of God, even if it means accepting rejection, verbal abuse, or even physical harm and death.

Reading:  When this was reported to Jotham, he went and stood at the top of Mount Gerizim and cried out in a loud voice:  “Hear me, lords of Shechem, and may God hear you!  (Judges 9:7)

Observation:  As I read the readings before I went to our communion service this morning, I was feeling like too much of a sinner to be worthy of reflecting on the Word of God.  However, I felt that this story of Jotham was speaking to me directly, I just didn’t understand completely what it was saying.  As I sat in my office, after attending our communion service this morning, I realized that it was Jotham’s willingness to voice his distaste for the way the leader was selected.  For me, I take this to mean that I should not just accept the way the world is and policies that our government has accepted as law, and I need to start screaming more.

Personification:  Peace  In order to be able to display the fruit of peace in my life, I must start screaming about the injustices that exist in this world.  I don’t know if it will affect anyone who hears it, but I feel secure after reading this scripture today that God will hear and the injustice will eventually be made right.

Prayer:  Lord, I pray for all the men and women who are taken advantage of in this world, for the purposes of satisfying our lust for sex and pornography.  It is my hope that all the people involved with setting up websites that take advantage of men and women, as well as the people involved in the sex traffic trade,  will be brought into the light and shamed into stopping this horrible practice of using people.  I ask this, as always, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit.  Amen.

I loved reading this entry. Thank you for writing this and sharing it. God must have been speaking to both of us with the same message today.

    God Bless.

  2. I love when God reveals some truth through someone else’s shared experience, and I am glad this post could validate God’s speaking to you yesterday. May God continue to work through you to bring the truth to more of his people. God bless you!

    • I believe the best way is to put them on your RSS feed. I don’t know how to do it, because I haven’t got mine working yet…However, I have subcribed to a few blogs that way and found that it is easier to get updates that way…God bless you!
